Who can use this feature?
This exciting new feature is available to all US schools with a Digital Theatre+ subscription.
What's new?
We've aligned over 1,300 of our educational resources to 15 major US Theatre Education standards, including:
- National Core Arts Standards (NCAS)
- State standards from California, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Michigan, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Texas, Virginia, and Washington
This means you can now easily find workshops, lesson plans, teaching resources, and educational content that directly support the specific standards you're teaching!

How to use the standards search
Finding resources by standard:
- Navigate to Browse > Search by Theatre Standards
- Select your state or national standards from the dropdown menu (the system will remember your choice for next time!)
- Choose your grade level (e.g., "Grades: 9-12" or "High School Proficient")
- Pick the specific standard you're teaching
- Browse all the resources that support that standard
Pro tip: Use the keyword search box to quickly filter standards. For example, type "context" to find all standards that include the word "context". The search is smart - if you search for a term that appears in a main standard, it will show all related sub-standards too!

Viewing standards on resource pages:
When you're viewing any production or educational resource, look for the "Supported standards" section. This shows you exactly which standards that resource aligns with, making it easy to justify your choices for lesson planning and curriculum mapping.

Example in action
Let's say you're teaching the Florida standard TH.912.C.1 about "Cognition and reflection" for Grades 9-12. Simply:
- Select "Florida: Next Generation Sunshine State Standards (2010)"
- Choose "Grades: 9-12"
- Select the specific standard
- Instantly see all the resources that help teach critical thinking and reflection in theatre!
